We are a team of 80 people across Finland and Sweden, with most of our 15-person in-house engineering team based in Helsinki. To lead the "agentic shift," we are looking for a Senior AI Engineer, a pragmatic builder, to join our team dedicated to Vainu’s AI offering.

Role: Backend-focused Senior Developer, AI Offering Team
Location: Helsinki, Finland (Our office is in Hakaniemi)
Work Model: Hybrid: 2–3 days/week at the office
Compensation (Gross, Annual): €66,000 – €84,000 based on experience and seniority

The Role: Architecting Agentic Systems

Together with your colleagues, you will move beyond simple prompt engineering to design and implement complex agentic systems. We are building multi-source environments where AI acts as a reliable teammate, and we need your expertise to lead the architecture of these workflows.

You are expected to bring deep experience in designing and implementing complex agentic systems. You’ll be the person who knows what it takes to build and optimize LLM-driven workflows, helping the team navigate the nuances of orchestration and performance.

Your Core Focus

Agentic Design: Architecting specialized agents that collaborate, self-correct, and execute complex GTM tasks.
Orchestration: Designing state machines and workflows for long-running AI processes using frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar.
Workflow Optimization: Refining LLM instructions and workflow loops to ensure reliability, groundedness, and cost-efficiency.
Source Integration: Leading the logic for how agents query and synthesize data from various heterogeneous sources to provide context-aware responses.

Expectations

We are looking for an experienced developer who understands the "plumbing" of modern AI.

Complex Agentic Systems: You have a proven track record of designing and implementing complex agentic systems. You understand task decomposition, routing, and multi-agent collaboration.
Python Mastery: Strong professional experience in Python development.
Data Source Integration: You have the experience and understanding required to integrate various data sources into agentic workflows effectively.
LLM Optimization: You know how to optimize LLM-driven workflows—from function calling and tool definition to evaluation and observability.

Good to Haves

While the focus is on agentic design, the following skills will help you navigate our broader stack:

Backend Frameworks: Experience with Django or FastAPI.
Modern Protocols: Interest or experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol).
Data Stack: Experience with MongoDB and its search capabilities, or working with Vector Databases.
Builder Attitude: A pragmatic approach to solving problems and an interest in seeing your work in production.
